Bleed the world

With this week’s news of Wall Street financier René-Thierry Magon de la Villehuchet’s suicide following Bernard Madoff’s hard-hitting, billion-dollar Ponzi scheme scandal, perhaps the video above will be found to be in bad taste. Nevertheless, in a novel, perhaps even spirited twist on Band Aid’s Feed the World song appealing for generosity in charitable donations, this ‘Bleed the World‘ version appeals for…well, cash for bankers hit by the financial crisis. As the site’s captions states, ‘At Christmas time we should always spare a thought for those less fortunate than us. After 20 years of bleeding the world, the global financial community has fallen on hard times.’ Meanwhile, the chorus reminds us that ‘there won’t be City bonuses this Christmas time’ as there will be ‘just anger, hate and blame…’. Yes, top-tier bankers and hedge fund managers, please do take note.

And on that note, happy holidays everyone!
