Frog and mouse

National Geographic: Mouse Rides Frog in India Monsoon

At the beginning of this month, the summer monsoon rains began taking their toll in India and this photograph, taken in Lucknow, shows that no one and nothing is left untouched.

An estimate of over thirty people have died in India as a result of landslides and floods caused by the rains. Polluted waters are a rising concern in the over-crowded urban regions.  More than twenty-five people have died in two days of rainfall in Pakistan‘s Punjab province, and more than 2,000 people have fled their homes in the eastern province of Gangwon in South Korea.

As a mouse seeks refuge atop a frog in the floodwaters, the above is further proof that–in times of distress–all beings come together to give a helping hand, even regardless of differences in species.
